Now, as much as we all love the articles of RECON, I know as well as you do that when I get a magazine, the first thing I flip to are the photos in the back. There’s nothing like a good woodsball picture. This “article” is one of a series which will only contain woodsball photos from the RECON Staff. Pull out a bib, you wouldn’t want to drool on your keyboard!

A tribute to a Brother at Arms

During Oklahoma D-Day this year the Colors will fly half-mast to honor the four plus thousand men and women who have died in the last six years of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the nation’s Global War on Terrorism. I know there are many of us that have lost someone to that conflict or a related combat death.

Newbies Rule!
Written by Jayson "Joracle" Orvis. Posted Nov 18, 2008
It’s no secret that paintball has shrunk over the last three years. For around twenty years, the sport of paintball grew every, single year. Now, over the last several years, the sport has taken a downturn. When you look at the numbers, it seems clear that experienced players are playing as much as ever, but at the same time, new player numbers have fallen off dramatically.
As experienced players, why should we care if the paintball market shrinks? So what if newbies stop coming out to play?
Illegal Use of Paintball Guns: Not Just Some “Funny” Joke
Written by Niko Brain. Posted Jul 11, 2008
Before I get started, this article may seem like common sense to most of you out there. In reality, most of the paintballers out there follow an unspoken code of "honor" when it comes to operating paintball guns outside the field. Although firing a paintball gun is empowering, and in most cases, just feels dang good - you need to wake up to some realities about paintball guns off the field.
CO2 Versus HPA - Which one do you go with?
Written by Niko Brain. Posted Jun 13, 2008
A lot of people wonder when they purchase a paintball gun about whether they should use CO2 (carbon dioxide) or HPA (high pressure air). I always say the same thing; it all depends on your marker, what kind of player you are, and what kind of paintball games you're playing. For example, are you playing scenario, speedball, or woodsball? These are all things you need to take into account. I will go through the differences and attributes of both so you are better equipped to choose which propellant is right for you.

Paintball Gun Mods - The First of a Series of Articles Relating to "Mods That Make Sense" -- Do you remember the first time you played a scenario or woodsball game? Do you remember looking at the more experienced players' paintball guns with their killer mods, drooling over the way they looked, and wishing your stock Tippmann 98 Custom or A-5 could look as good as theirs? Well, my friend, the wait is over.
Corporate Tourneyball and the Woodsball Revolution
Written by Jordan F. Ricks. Posted May 20, 2007
Flip open just about any paintball magazine and you'll see page after page of glitzy tourney ads. Only about ten percent of the advertising in Action Pursuit Games is aimed at the woodsballTM player. But, according to a poll by SpecialOps Paintball, commercial paintball fields around the country play woodsballTM more than seventy-percent of the time - and this doesn't count the informal pickup games that take place every Saturday in forests and vacant lots across America. Less than thirty-percent of commercial paintball is played on a tourney format.
